I started my journey as a bodywork practitioner with the hope of “helping more people lead healthy and vibrant lives.”

Since I was a child, I often massaged my mother’s stiff shoulders, as she suffered from chronic shoulder tension. I still remember how happy she was and how she would say, “Your big hands are perfect for massage.”

​

Although my family was not wealthy, my mother always prioritized our health, carefully selecting nutritious meals for me and my four siblings.

​

Filled with gratitude for the healthy upbringing my mother gave us, I decided to pursue a career that would allow me to support others' health and well-being. That’s when I became a bodywork practitioner.

​

Later, I moved to Hakuba, my wife’s hometown, after getting married. While helping with her family’s business, I opened MAKOTOYA here in Hakuba.

MAKOTOYA may be a small salon, but we are deeply committed to promoting the health and well-being of everyone we serve.

Through my work, I strive to support the healthy lifestyles of the people living in Hakuba, hoping to contribute to their well-being.

With a strong desire to support the health of the people in Hakuba and to bring more joy to their everyday lives, I provide bodywork and teach Pilates-based exercises.

​

While most of my clients are local residents, I also welcome many visitors during the winter tourism season.

​

We warmly welcome tourists as well.
